NETS Programs
-Arts and Crafts a recreational program for seniors. Includes free knitting classes and take-home crafts projects.
-Library Services a free reference and take-out library of books and reference materials.
-Senior Citizen Transportation Services seniors receive transportation to shopping,
entertainment, and recreational centers in and around the surrounding neighborhoods of the Bronx.
-Cultural Trips weekly trips to theaters and museums in and around New York City.
-Senior Citizen Identification Program (SCIP) seniors receive a picture identification card containing medical
and personal information, for the fast identification of medical needs in an emergency.
-NETS After School Program after school program offers homework assistance and
recreational activities to neighborhood children aged 9-12.
-Mentoring Program teenage volunteers are trained as mentors and placed in the
service of organizations and activities in their communities.
-Ident-A-Child pre-school and elementary school children are fingerprinted for their protection.
Parents receive a laminated card with their child's photograph, fingerprints, and identification information.
-Health Sessions providing health-related workshops and screenings: blood pressure
testing, cholesterol screening sessions, exercise classes, etc. in cooperation with medical
service providers.
-Flu Shots free flu shots administered yearly by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. This event takes place in November. Note: Due to limited supplies, free flu shots are only available to persons over the age of 55 OR adults over the age of 18 with a disability. -GED Program individuals over 21 years of age are eligible to receive free training for the General
Educational Development examination.

-Resume Building Seminar a free seminar where instructors review resumes and work with participants on writing, revising, and custom-tailoring their resumes for the job they want. Topics such as interviewing skills, Internet-assisted job seeking, and writing effective cover letters are also discussed.
-Back-To-School a program designed to encourage and prepare adults for continuing education courses and certifications.
-NETS sponsors and participates in a variety of community events throughout the year,
including Family Pride Day, National Night Out Against Crime, the Annual Senior Trip to
Albany, New York, and Parkchester SummerFest, among others.
